Charismatic and independent churches

Church software for charismatic churches in Ghana

Pentecostal and charismatic Christians are 31.6 percent of Ghana, the largest Christian grouping in the 2021 census, and most of them belong to a church that is either one branch or a head office with several. The reporting is to the founder or the head office, usually monthly, and the growth question is first-time visitors.

Your structure, not a template

Fold gives a single branch a register, attendance and giving that work from a phone, and a head office a view of every branch with the figures rolled up. Visitors are followed up, members who stop coming are noticed, and the report is a print.

Levels of oversight

  1. Head Office
  2. Branch

Branches let one account oversee several branchs, each keeping its own register.

Your words, not ours

Membership categories

  • Member
  • New Convert
  • First-time Visitor
  • Child

Offices your church fills

  • Senior Pastor
  • Branch Pastor
  • Elder
  • Deacon
  • Head Usher and Department Head

These are examples from Charismatic practice. You type your own, and nothing is a fixed list.

Your monthly report, already filled in

The evening somebody in your branch loses every period, assembling figures that were all written down somewhere already. Fold counts them from the records your team kept as they went.

  • Membership totalled and broken down by departments
  • Attendance averaged against services actually held, not against Sundays on a calendar
  • Baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals recorded the week they happen
  • Income split by tithe, offering and any fund you keep
  • Ready to print or save as PDF for the head office

Who sees the giving

The minister, an administrator and a finance officer. Nobody else. A elder can keep their own people and record attendance without ever opening the giving records, and that is enforced by the database itself rather than by hiding a menu item.

Each branch's records are separated from every other church's in the same way. Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) your church is a data controller and must register with the Data Protection Commission, and choosing software that separates records properly is part of meeting that duty.
