What is a church clerk?
Church clerk
A church clerk is the officer of a Baptist or Adventist church who keeps the membership register, records baptisms and transfers, takes minutes and prepares the reports the church sends to its association or conference.
The Adventist church clerk's quarterly report to the conference is the return of that denomination. In Methodist and Presbyterian churches the same work belongs to the society or congregational secretary.
