What is a communicant?

Communicant

A communicant is a confirmed member entitled to receive Holy Communion, and the category most Presbyterian and Anglican returns count as full membership.

A communicant roll is the list of those members, revised at set times; a member who has been absent for long enough may be moved off it, which is why attendance matters to the roll and not only to the headcount.

Used by: Presbyterian, Anglican and Catholic churches.
