“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.”Proverbs 27:23

What is a member type?

Member type

A member type is the category a church places each person in, such as full member, catechumen, junior member or adherent, which decides what they may do and how they are counted on the return.

The categories are the denomination's own: Methodists count full members, catechumens, junior members and adherents; Presbyterians count communicants; Baptists and Pentecostals count baptised members and new converts. Software that imposes its own list produces a return in the wrong words.
