Church register
The church register is the official list of a congregation's members with their details, membership status, class or group, and the dates of their baptism, confirmation, marriage and death.
It was a bound book, then an Excel file, and in either form it goes wrong the same way: it lives with one person and is out of date the day they hand it over. The Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) treats a church keeping a register as a data controller.
