What is a deanery?

Deanery

A deanery is a group of neighbouring parishes within a diocese, coordinated by a dean, so that priests in one area can plan pastoral work together.

The Archdiocese of Accra has eight deaneries. A deanery does not usually keep records of its own; it asks its parishes for theirs.

Used by: Anglican and Catholic churches.
