“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.”Proverbs 27:23

What is a outstation?

Outstation

An outstation is a smaller congregation attached to a parish or mother church, usually in a nearby village, served by a catechist and visited by the priest on a rota.

Outstations keep their own attendance and giving but are counted inside the parish return. A parish with six outstations is, for record keeping, seven congregations.

Used by: Catholic and some Anglican and Presbyterian churches.
