What is a bible class?

Bible class

A Bible class is the small group every Methodist member belongs to, usually eight to twenty people, led by a class leader who is responsible for their pastoral care.

The class is how a society of four hundred stays known. The class leader takes attendance, collects class dues, visits the sick and notices absence before anybody else does. Class membership is recorded on the register and reported in the return.

Used by: Methodist and AME Zion churches, where AME Zion says simply class.
