What is a local preacher?
Local preacher
A local preacher is a trained lay member accredited to lead worship and preach across the societies of a circuit, without being ordained.
The Methodist Church Ghana has 11,861 of them, and on many Sundays a society hears a local preacher rather than its minister. The preaching plan that assigns them is one of the circuit's quarterly documents.
