“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.”Proverbs 27:23

How the attendance average is worked out

Divided by services held, not by the number of Sundays.

The average is the total attendance across the period divided by the number of services your church actually recorded, not by the number of Sundays on the calendar.

This matters. A church that lost two Sundays to a funeral or a storm would otherwise have its average quietly understated against a church that met every week, and the two returns would not be comparable.
