What is a mobile money giving?

Mobile money giving

Mobile money giving is a member paying their tithe or offering from their MTN, Telecel or AirtelTigo wallet to the church, either to a merchant number or through a payment processor.

Ghana had 26.7 million active mobile money accounts in 2025, more than the adult population, and transaction values reached GHS 4.54 trillion. Through a processor such as Paystack the fee is 1.95 percent, so a GHS 100 tithe settles as GHS 98.05, and every payment carries a reference the treasurer can match.
